LSE 2025 brought military leaders together with Senate and Congressional members to discuss and support the future readiness of our naval forces. This exercise highlights the strong collaboration between defense leadership and policymakers to ensure a resilient and prepared fleet.

Mr. Michael Durkin, Director of the Navy Warfare Development Center (NWDC), speaks with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (VA) during his visit to NWDC in Norfolk, Va., on Aug. 4, 2025. Senator Kaine, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, received an overview of the Navy’s evolving warfighting concepts and preparations for Large Scale Exercise (LSE) 2025, which will test the Fleet’s ability to conduct integrated, distributed maritime operations across multiple theaters.
