Welcome Aboard

As a newly assigned member of NWDC, we are sure you have many questions about what we do, how we do it, and how it all will affect you. Once you arrive, you will attend indoctrination, which will provide an overview of the command's departments, which should answer many of your questions.

Prior to Arrival

Military members should have already received a welcome aboard message with their assigned sponsor. If not, please contact our administrative officer at 757-341-4336.

Government civilian employees will receive contact information during the onboarding process. They can also contact our civilian personnel liaison or administrative officer at 757-341- 4253, 757-341-4336, or nwdc_civpers@us.navy.mil for clarification of any information received.

Government contractors should follow the policies and directions received from their employer and may contact our quarterdeck at 757-341-4036 for any specific questions they may have. NWDC is located on board Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, in building O-27 inside Gate 3A, which is accessed using Interstate 564 (just follow the highway signs).

Once you arrive at NWDC, please use the front entrance (by the flagpole) and enter through the left side double doors. Our security personnel will process you in and contact our administrative department to begin your check-in process. Military personnel should bring their orders and Page 2 when reporting. We will endorse the orders and process all of the necessary paperwork for checking in. If you need to submit a travel claim, please bring all the necessary requirements (i.e. SATO travel tickets, receipts, etc.) with you so we can start that process.
